Pastor: Craig Kuhlman & Wife Nan

Craig and Nan along with two of their three adult children Morgan and Chloe and three dogs Moe (miniature dachshund), Pedro and Luna (Chihuahuas) relocated from Ohio to Southern California in March 2017 to serve as Lead Pastor of Grace Communion Monrovia.

Prior to taking the role of Lead Pastor, Craig retired early from a 35-year career in banking where he served as an Executive Vice President and Chief Trust Officer in the wealth management and trust industry, and advising clients in the areas of estate and retirement planning, 401k administration, and investment management.

In serving as pastor Craig’s passion is to help all people to know who they are in their relationship with the Father, Son, and Spirit, and to live out that relationship with their Triune God with absolutely no fear, no shame, no guilt, and no doubt, loving God, and loving others.

Craig holds a B.A. degree in economics and finance (Findlay College); a B.A. degree in Theology (Ambassador College); M.B.A. in organizational leadership (University of Findlay); and a Master of Pastoral Studies (Grace Communion Seminary).

His wife Nan, a freelance writer, is employed as an English composition instructor at Azusa Pacific University, Indiana Technical University, and Northwest State Community College in Ohio. She holds a B.S. degree in journalism (Bowling Green State University) and a Master’s degree in English and Creative Writing (Southern New Hampshire University).

Assistant Pastor: Manuel Hamme

Manny Hamme is an Assistant Pastor and Treasurer at Grace Communion Monrovia, and his wife, Autumn, directs our children’s church program. Manny and Autumn have one adult son, Stephen, and they have been married over 25 years.

Assistant Pastor: G. Fred Stevens

Fred and Maryann Stevens live in Arcadia and have been active members of our fellowship throughout their marriage of over 25 years. Both Fred and Maryann have served in various ministries including Pastor’s Advisory council, children’s Ministry, Vacation Bible School, Men’s Ministry, Women’s Ministry, Teen church and PowerPoint. They both currently serve on the Advisory Council for Spiritual Enrichment Program (SEP) SoCal, a week-long summer camp dedicated to showing God’s love to preteens and teens.

Fred was ordained an elder in August, 1983 and has been a baptized Christian for over 45 years. Maryann has been a baptized Christian for over 30 years.

Fred is a technical trainer for healthcare electronic medical records and is active in professional associations for both Training, Coaching and also Internal Auditing. He is part of our denominational Ministry Coaching network which provides personal development coaching to church Interns, new Pastors and church Planters.

Maryann works in marketing for a travel agency and is financial secretary for Great Commission Trips, a nonprofit that specializes in short term Christian mission trips for teens and young adults. In her spare time, Maryann enjoys preserving family memories by scrapbooking.

Fred and Maryann’s most important ministry and source of their greatest joy has been their two sons, Alex and Max who grew up attending New Hope (GC Monrovia’s first location). Alex now lives in North Carolina and Max is a college student.

Assistant Pastor: Ed Stonick

Ed and Nancy Stonick live in Pasadena and have been active members of our fellowship throughout their marriage of 45 years.

Ed and Nancy were ordained together as deacon and deaconess in the 1980s, and Ed was ordained an elder in 1994. They have served in many areas of ministry and youth activities over the years.

Both worked for the church for many years. Ed is a retired teacher, with 22 years of service in the South Pasadena schools. Nancy is a retired legal secretary.
